Akemi Tanaka, Brooklyn-based furniture designer, designed Sachi to lighten the visual weight that credenzas usually occupy. By seeing through the mass, Sachi feels smaller and lighter. With the beveled edge carried through the back, Sachi can double as a room divider. The cutout can accommodate a vase, sculpture or special item and gives the object a special place for display. Sachi's laquered white shell opens to reveal a dark walnut inner body.
